On July 22 and 23, the Food Forum will host a virtual workshop, Healthy People, Healthy Planet: Building a More Sustainable, Resilient, Equitable, and Nourishing Food System, that will explore the integration of the health, societal, economic, and environmental effects and future needs of the food system. The main objective is to understand how to achieve a resilient food system in 2050 that provides access to safe and nutritious food with environmental and economic sustainability. Workshop presenters will explore three main dimensions of the food system: vulnerabilities, resiliency, and transformation. The workshop will include discussions on global change, access to health and food, resiliency in complex dynamic systems and resiliency for the future, and consumption- and production-oriented strategies to transform the food system.

The workshop is divided into three sessions (final agenda will be available soon):

  • Session 1: Vulnerabilities of the Food System (July 22, 10:00 am ET - 12:30 pm ET)
  • Session 2: Resiliency of the Food System (July 22, 1:30 pm ET - 4:00 pm ET)
  • Session 3: Transformation of the Food System (July 23, 10:00 am ET - 1:00 pm ET)
